Case Study: Emergency Cover, Exceptional Care: Filling Last Minute ITU & ED Requirements at NHSi Capped Rates

Early January we were contacted by a large NHS Trust in Greater London with an immediate need for an ITU nurse the following morning. Their tier 1 agencies had a lead time of 2 weeks but were unable to fill and we were called upon.

We reached out to our 3000+ members using our app notifications, and of course good old fashioned calling around! We were able to fill the shift within minutes with an experienced 100% NHS framework compliant ITU Nurse at NHSi capped rates.

We were then given the opportunity to fill more ITU and ED shifts over the next week. Within the first 3 days we had added 11 NHS compliant nurses and booked 12 shifts – some with less than 24 hours notice.

We have had excellent feedback from the trust regarding the quality of nurses provided and feel pleased to have been able to help during this period of pressure for the trust. They are looking to recommend us to the other London NHS Trusts that they work with as part of their hub. We look forward to being able to protect them from higher cost agencies should the demand rise, and continue to build on the relationship.
