    The work

    What complex care actually involves

This is nurse-led care for adults living with complex and high-acuity needs. The clinical side is real, tracheostomy care, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway suctioning and cough assist, PEG feeding, and supporting people with prolonged disorders of consciousness. If you have done this work, you know it is a different pace to a general home.

We staff both sides of it. Health care assistants working alongside the nursing team, and registered nurses from adult, mental health and learning disability backgrounds. Tell us which you are, and which of these skills you hold, and we will only send you the roles that fit.

    The clinical side

The skills these services ask for

Complex care is specific. Here is the kind of thing these roles involve. Tell us which you are trained and confident in.

    Airway and respiratory

Tracheostomy care, invasive and non-invasive ventilation, airway suctioning and cough assist. Confidence around a compromised airway is the core skill.

    Feeding and neuro

PEG feeding tubes, dysphagia, epilepsy management, and prolonged disorders of consciousness after a brain injury or stroke.

    High-acuity daily care

Bariatric care, continence and catheter management, and the close observation that keeps someone stable in the service rather than back in hospital.

    Called something else?

HCA, healthcare assistant, support worker, staff nurse

The role goes by a few names, health care assistant, healthcare assistant, HCA, rehabilitation support worker, or registered nurse. Whichever is on your badge, if you have complex care experience we want to hear from you. Say which clinical skills you hold when you enquire, because that is what these services screen on.

If the care is more about the rehab journey after a brain injury, our brain injury page may be the better fit. It is the same world seen from the other side.
