The work: care home shifts across Surrey
These are well-run residential and nursing homes supporting older people, including residents living with dementia. For care assistants it is classic care work done properly: personal care with dignity, mealtimes, supporting residents to move safely, and being the person who notices when something is off. For RGNs it is leading the floor: medication rounds, wound and skin care, and supporting a permanent care team who know the residents well.
Where the shifts are: Haslemere and Cranleigh in the south-west of the county, Dorking under Box Hill, Camberley on the Hampshire border, and Warlingham and Merstham in the east near Croydon and Redhill. RGN shifts are concentrated at Haslemere, Cranleigh, Dorking and Warlingham; care assistant shifts run at all of them except Dorking and Cranleigh. Pay: RGN rates at the Haslemere home
- Weekday days: £24.44 per hour
- Saturday days: £25.58 per hour
- Sunday days and weeknights: £26.72 per hour
- Saturday and Sunday nights: £27.85 per hour
- Bank holiday days: £34.69 per hour
- Bank holiday nights: £36.96 per hour
